Big hair, bold prints, chunky jewelry and plenty of laughs — the 3rd Annual Mrs. Roper Romp is making its return to downtown Mason City on Saturday, August 15, and it is shaping up to be another unforgettable evening.
Inspired by the beloved Helen Roper from Three's Company, this event brings hundreds of participants together for a night of colorful costumes, themed activities and downtown fun. Whether you are a seasoned "Mrs. Roper" or joining the romp for the first time, all are welcome to embrace the playful spirit of the evening.
Dress bold and laugh loud
The Mrs. Roper Romp is all about going all out. Pull on your favorite caftan, pile on the beads and bangles, throw on a curly red wig if you have one and gather your friends for a night that is equal parts hilarious and memorable. The more colorful your outfit, the better.

Explore downtown along the way
The evening kicks off with registration beginning at 4 p.m., before participants set off to explore downtown Mason City. Throughout the night, participating bars and restaurants will be serving food and drink specials inspired by Mrs. Roper's style. From creative cocktails to bites, each stop offers another reason to keep the party going as you make your way through downtown. It is an opportunity to discover a new spot or revisit one you already enjoy while celebrating with friends.
Between activities, food and drink specials, and opportunities for photos with friends, the evening offers chances to create memories and embrace your inner Mrs. Roper.
Trivia, dancing and activities
Participants can test their Three's Company knowledge during Mrs. Roper Trivia, with sessions offered at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at The Music Man Square. Trivia registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited to 10 teams of up to four participants per session. If you would like to participate but do not have a team, organizers will randomly assign you to one. This year, there will be two trivia sessions to choose from.
At 6:15 p.m., participants can head to the dance floor for line dancing at The Music Man Square. No experience is required.
Fun with a purpose
While the Mrs. Roper Romp is known for its outfits and atmosphere, it also supports a cause. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit Women United.
Those looking for a night that combines laughter, community and nostalgia can grab friends, plan an outfit and spend the evening exploring downtown Mason City one stop at a time.
