State Representative Henry Stone (R-Forest City) has announced his re-election bid for Iowa House District 9. The district includes Emmet and Winnebago Counties as well as most of Kossuth County.
The Schnebly family on Oct. 22 received the John K. and Luise V. Hanson Lifetime Achievement Award for decades of dedicated service to Forest City and surrounding areas. It was part of the Community Partnership Awards held at the Boman Fine Arts Center.
The Forest City council on Monday night approved the lowest of three bids received of $96,160 from Irby Utilities in Burnsville, Minnesota, for four pieces of 15 kilovolt electrical distribution switchgear equipment. The bid also includes four associated box pads.
While it appears the long and storied history of the Forest City Summit is drawing to a close with the end of publishing on Oct. 28, 2025, a silver lining is that historical copies of each Summit and Summit-Tribune issue is to be bound and preserved.
