Young leads Warriors to seventh at Jewel Invitational

The Warriors finished with a team score of 653, placing behind Southwest Minnesota State (648) and ahead of Minnesota-Crookston (669). Augustana won the event with a team score of 610.

Megan Young led the Warriors by finishing second individually with a four-over-par score of 148 (74, 74). Maeve McDougal (85, 82) and Kendyl Conrad (84, 83) each tied for 36th with scores of 23 over par.

Tara Eckes rounded out the Warriors' scoring lineup by tying for 42nd at 27 over par (87, 84). Taylor LeMire also competed on the five-person team, placing just behind Eckes in a tie for 48th with a 32-over-par score (88, 88).

Megan Kuehni competed as an individual in the tournament, finishing 67th with rounds of 100 and 94 (+50).

As a team, the Warriors recorded the fourth-best average on par 5s, averaging 5.40 strokes per par 5. WSU also finished with the fourth-most birdies (14) and seventh-most pars (71). Young led the tournament individually with eight birdies.
