Spring cleaning takes on new meaning when you can safely dispose of sensitive documents while helping neighbors in need. Jane Fischer & Associates invites the Mason City community to their 8th annual Shred It event, now expanded to include a clothing and household goods drive benefiting One Vision.
A Trusted Community Tradition Returns
For eight years running, Jane Fischer & Associates has opened their doors to help residents securely destroy confidential paperwork. The event takes place at 1002 E. State St., where Jane Fischer & Associates has served North Iowa real estate clients since 1992.
Identity theft remains a pressing concern for homeowners managing mortgage documents, tax records, and financial statements. This free community service provides peace of mind while keeping sensitive information out of landfills and recycling bins where it could be compromised.
More Than Just Shredding
This year's event expands its community impact. One Vision, a local organization supporting individuals with disabilities, will collect gently used clothing and household items throughout the day. Clean out those closets, donate items you no longer need, and know they'll find new purpose with families across North Iowa.
The dual-purpose event makes it simple to tackle multiple spring tasks in one stop. Load up your car with outdated financial records, old tax returns, and household items ready for donation, then drive to 1002 E. State St. to handle everything at once.
What to Bring
Acceptable items for shredding include bank statements, credit card offers, medical records, expired insurance documents, old tax returns, and any paperwork containing personal information. Remove items from binders and folders, but staples and paper clips can stay attached.
For One Vision donations, bring clean, gently used clothing for all ages and seasons, small household items, kitchenware, linens, and home décor. Large furniture and electronics cannot be accepted at this event.
