The City of Waterloo will hold its City-Wide Clean-Up event on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Waste Management Services site located at 3505 Easton Avenue. The City-Wide Clean-Up is open to all City of Waterloo residents. Identification proving residency may be requested.
To defray the cost of the event, the following fees will be applied. Each vehicle entering the site will be charged $2.00 per visit. Major household appliances will be charged $1.00 each, with a limit of three. Tires will be charged $4.00 per tire. Tires can be no larger than passenger vehicle tires (i.e., sedans, SUVs, minivans, and pickup trucks). Residents are asked to bring exact change to help expedite their visit and keep the line moving.
What is allowed
- Appliances – limit three per household, including air conditioners, dehumidifiers, freezers, refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, stoves, microwaves, furnaces, thermostats, water heaters, etc.
- Tires – automobile and pickup truck tires (rims can remain)
- General bulk items – televisions, computers, furniture, lawn furniture, clothing, bedding, scrap lumber and repair materials, carpet, housewares, toys, bicycles, etc.
- All gas-powered equipment – lawnmowers, weed eaters, tillers, snowblowers, etc. (all items must be drained of gas and oil prior to drop-off)

What is not allowed
- No garbage (i.e., typical household kitchen or bathroom garbage) – please use Waterloo’s curbside service for garbage disposal.
- No hazardous materials.
- No liquids (e.g., wet paint, fuels, oils, pharmaceuticals, etc.).
- No batteries.
- No propane tanks.
- No oversized tires such as tractor or semi tires.
- No yard waste or tree debris – please use Waterloo’s curbside service or compost site for yard waste or tree debris disposal.
Please remember to properly secure your loads when transporting materials to the facility. Use a tarp or enclose waste materials for safety and sanitation purposes. You will be expected to unload your items; City personnel will be available to assist when needed. The City of Waterloo is not responsible for any damage that may occur to personal vehicles during the event.
