Kart racers round a corner Saturday during Thunder on the Syrup in the All Seasons Building at the North Iowa Fairgrounds in Mason City.

A Day of Thunder on Syrup will be Jan. 5-6 at the North Iowa Events Center in Mason City.

Karts, cage karts, bikes and quads race laps on the the sticky coke syrup track. Past champions and rookie drivers will battle for the 2018 title.

Doors open at noon Friday, with pre-tech from 4-6 p.m., and practice from 7 to 10.

Doors open at 8 a.m. Saturday, with registration/pre-tech from 8-11, and practice from 11 a.m. to noon. Racing begins at 1 p.m.

Pit passes are $20 per day, or $35 for a two-day pass.

General admission is $10; youth ages 6-12 are $5, and kids 5 and under are free.

A Day of Thunder Coke Syrup races are presented by the North Iowa Fair Association and Mason City Motor Speedway.
