Senior Jenna Boelter makes history for Garrigan
Boelter became a career-leader in 3-pointers and steals in Garrigan's 66-40 victory over West Bend Mallard on Tuesday night.
Boelter passed NIACC standout Emily Bell's season record off 77 3-pointers, hitting seven against West Bend to put her at 83. She also passed Angie Froehlich's school record of 257 steals with 258.
In addition, Boelter cracks the top 5 in the state for career 3-pointers.
Boelter totaled 29 points and senior Grace McGuire had 11 points.
West Hancock 72 North Iowa 39
The Eagles secured a regional second-round victory on Tuesday night.
In the 72-39 victory over North Iowa, freshman Rachel Leerar led the Eagles with a 25-point performance. Sophomore Amanda Chizek tossed in 10 points and senior Kelly Leerar added nine points and nine assists.
Junion Katelin Adams led the Bison with 22 points.
West Hancock will host Newman Catholic on Friday.
Newman Catholic 69 North Butler 53
Senior Peyton Olson led the Knights to victory with a 28-point performance, including a 12-for-14 performance from the line in the fourth quarter. Junior Mckenzie Sullivan added 14 points.
North Butler's Madison Please and Emy Osterbuhr each tallied 13 points.
Newman travels to West Hancock on Friday.
Central Springs 50 St. Ansgar 43
Central Springs won a close defensive battle over St. Ansgar, 50-43. The Panthers led by a narrow margin after the first half, 27-25.
The Saints would limit the Panthers' top weapon: senior Kaylee Parks in the third quarter.
Central Springs would score only on free throws from senior Jadyn Shonka as the Saints took the lead 33-31.
The fourth was all about consistency from the line, which the Panthers had. Shonka went 7 for 8 on the night from the line, including four in the fourth.
Parks made 11 of 13 from the line, making eight in the fourth. She would finish the game with 29 points, including 18 from the first half.
St. Ansgar junior Jadyn Anderson racked up 15 points and freshman Hali Anderson added 10 for the Saints.
Clear Lake 64 Webster City 57
The Lions locked in their 13th win in 14 games. Senior Zach Lester racked up 24 points, Drew Enke added 20. Senior Sean Wendel was the third top-scorer with 10 points.
Algona 57 Iowa Falls-Alden 56
The Bulldogs edged out Iowa Falls-Alden on Tuesday night. Sophomore Wyatt Wegener racked up 20 points and senior Trevor Borman tossed in 11.
