CLEAR LAKE | Clear Lake spotted Clarion-Goldfield-Dows a four-run lead in the first inning and could never quite recover in a 6-5 loss at home on Monday.

The Lions fought back to tie the game in the bottom of the third after Chelsey Holck smacked a two-run homer in the second and Bella Parker and Sara Faber each singled and scored in the third, but a two-run outburst by the Cowgirls in the top of the fourth proved to be the difference.

Macy Mixdorf added a solo home run for the Lions.

Alivia Hauge tossed 3 1/3 innings of scoreless relief for Clear Lake.

The Lions (4-4) travel to Mason City on Tuesday.
