MASON CITY — Cade Wagner's goal 27 seconds into the overtime period Friday lifted the Des Moines Oak Leafs over the Mohawk Hockey Club 2-1.

The Mohawks were first on the scoreboard when Skylar Watt, assisted by Brett Despenas and Ethan McHenry, scored 12:01 into the second period.

The Oak Leafs answered with a goal 57 seconds into the third period before netting the game-winner in overtime.

Parker Dondlinger stopped 40 shots in goal for the Mohawks, who host the Des Moines Capitals today.
