NORWALK | The Mason City boys golf team competed in the CIML tournament Wednesday at the Legacy Golf Club.

As a team, Mohawks took fourth, shooting 331. Marshalltown, Dowling and Johnston topped the standings shooting 304, 305 and 310 respectively.

Nick Pittman of Johnston was medalist, shooting a 72. Mason City’s top scorers included Brad Vaith (76), J.J.Wickman (77), Pete Stadheim (88) and Evan Lynch (90).

“Brad did a good job of keeping the ball in the fairway and keeping it on the greens,” head coach Jim Cornick said. “He can do that day in and day out. I think the other boys realized that if they keep on the fairway they can do well.”

The Mohawks will compete in district play Tuesday in Ames at Veenker Memorial Golf Course.
