WEBSTER CITY | Bishop Garrigan's boys basketball team took a convincing victory against Janesville on Tuesday, earning their third berth in the Class 1A state basketball tournament. It's their first admittance to the big dance since 2010.
Four players scored at least 10 points during the Golden Bears' 56-35 victory. The game was close at halftime, as Bishop Garrigan held a 23-17 lead after two quarters. Things shifted dramatically afterward, however, as the Golden Bears outscored Janesville 33-18 the rest of the way.

TJ Schnurr and Angelo Winekl each had double-doubles, combining for 24 points and 23 rebounds. Brad Capesius and Cade Winkel each had 10 points and combined to shoot 9-of-14 from the floor. Bishop Garrigan shot 44.4 percent from the field. Cade Winkel had three of the team's seven blocks.
The fifth-seeded Golden Bears (19-6) will face No. 4 Montezuma (21-1) in the quarterfinals at 1 p.m. on Monday at Wells Fargo Arena.
