Mason City 80, Urbandale 74
URBANDALE | The Mohawks needed to find an extra gear after a 27-14 first-quarter start on Friday. They found that gear, but it took a little time.
The Mohawks hit a wall in the second and third quarters, trailing Urbandale 43-40 at halftime and down 59-51 at the end of the third.
Mason City (7-7) responded with a 29-point run through the fourth quarter. Hannah Faktor, who finished the night with 16 points, hit a pair of crucial threes during Mason City's fourth-quarter run.
"The middle quarters were tough, but our kids kept their composure and kept fighting," said Mason City coach Curt Klaahsen.
Megan Meyer led with 27 points. Anna Deets followed with 23 points.
Mason City travels to Ankeny on Tuesday, Jan. 16.
West Hancock 65, Eagle Grove 18
BRITT | The Eagles (12-1, 9-1) stretched their winning streak to eight games Friday night.
Kelly Leerar led with 20 points and 5 assists. Rachel Leerar followed with 15 points and 3 steals. Amanda Chizek had 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Natalie Vrba led Eagle Grove with 12 points.
The Eagles travel to GHV on Tuesday.
North Union 79, North Iowa 26
BUFFALO CENTER | North Union (No. 11, Class 2A) improved to 13-0 with Friday's victory.
Chloe Lofstrom led the team with 22 points. Samantha Hadedorn followed with 18 points.
Katelin Adams led North Iowa (3-10) with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
West Fork 42, Rockford 24
ROCKFORD | Lexi Jones led the Warhawks with 10 points. West Fork is now 8-3.
Lake Mills 59, Belmond-Klemme 36
BELMOND | Laura Knudtson's 17 points and 4 steals led the Bulldogs to Friday's victory. Becca Evans had 10 points and 6 rebounds while Jade Gasteiger had 12 points and 2 steals.
Haley Beminio led B-K with 14 points. Addison McMurray had an 8-point effort.
Forest City 48, GHV 34
FOREST CITY | The Indians improved to 10-3 with Friday's 14-point victory.
Forest City's Brea Dillavou scored a team-high 20 points and pulled down 9 rebounds. Kelsey Koch finished with 12 points and 4 rebounds.
Clear Lake 57, St. Edmond 16
CLEAR LAKE | Sarah Faber's 25 points led the Lions (12-1) Friday night.
Lexi Fasbender scored 15 points. Jordyn Barragy finished with 14 points.
Nashua-Plainfield 39, Northwood-Kensett 27
NORTHWOOD | Libby Fisher led N-P Friday with a game-high 16 points.
Britney Holthaus added 7 points in the win. Laura Hopperstad led N-K with 7 points.
Webster City 41, Hampton-Dumont 35
HAMPTON | Maci Arjes scored a game-high 13 points but Hampton-Dumont came up just short in a 41-35 loss to Webster City in North Central Conference girls basketball on Friday.
Makayla Sievers added nine points for the Bulldogs.
Hampton-Dumont (4-8) returns to conference play when it travels to Clear Lake on Tuesday.

HAMPTON | Webster City's Cameron Mowen led all scorers with 25 points. Henry Hoversten followed with 17 points.

BRITT | A fourth-quarter rally sealed Friday's win for the Eagles. Gavin Becker led West Hancock with 24 points and 9 rebounds.
MaCoy Yeakel added 16 points, Chase Eisenman followed with 11 points and 8 assists. Lucas Weiland had 10 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals.
Spencer Espejo led Eagle Grove with 21 points. Niko Padilla finished with 14 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 assists.

DECORAH | Jack Molstead led the Comets with 19 points, who won their 10th straight.
Mike Cranshaw followed with 15 points. Cade Hemesath added 10 points.
North Union 57, North Iowa 55
BUFFALO CENTER | North Union went 22-of-29 from the free-throw line and pulled out a 57-55 victory over North Iowa in Top of Iowa Conference West Division boys basketball on Friday.
The Bison had a late opportunity to tie the score but were unable to get a good look.
Riley Bauer scored 19 to lead North Union.
Taylor Baumann led three North Iowa players in double figures with 18.
Dominyk Price had 15 and Isaiah Walk 11 for North Iowa.
