MASON CITY | The NIACC men's basketball team dropped a 79-72 decision to Iowa Lakes Wednesday night in an ICCAC contest in the NIACC gym.

Iowa Lakes took a 37-31 lead at the half and outscored the Trojans 42-41 in the second half to claim the seven-point league victory.

Nick Wagner led five Iowa Lakes players in double figures with 14 points.

NIACC (13-8 overall. 1-4 in the league) was led by Nick Wurm with 27 points. Orrington Hamilton scored 12 points, Jaycob Payne scored 11 points and Raymond Harding scores 10 points for the Trojans.

Wurm also grabbed 10 rebounds and had four steals and three assists. Payne had eight rebounds with four assists.

NIACC returns to action Saturday at Southwestern. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
