North Iowa Bulls hockey: Bulls' season ends in semifinals

The North Iowa Bulls season came to an abrupt end on Saturday night, with a 3-1 loss to the Texas Brahmas in the NA3HL semifinals.

The Brahmas’ Michael Redmon scored the first goal of the game early in the second period, and held the lead until 11:37 remaining in the third, when Jarod Blackowiak scored a goal off of an assist from Bulls’ forward Jimmy McDermott, to tie the game at one.

The Brahmas retook the lead with 8:27 remaining off a goal from Benjamin Lindberg. When Stuart Pearson scored another goal with 3.9 seconds to go, it sealed  the win for Texas, and ended North Iowa’s season.

The Bulls finished the year with a 37-15-3 record. Texas and the Lewiston/Auburn Nordiques faced off in the Fraser Cup finals on Sunday, and the Brahmas walked away with a 2-1 win, to claim the NA3HL title.
