North Iowa Bulls associate head coach Kevin Murdock has been hired by the Kenai River Brown Bears of the North American Hockey League, according to a press release issued Thursday evening.

“Kevin has experience playing in the USHL and at the NCAA Division I level," Kenai River associate general manager Chris Hedlund said in the release. "His commitment to player growth and on-ice success was apparent to us."

Murdock, who joined North Iowa's staff in 2016, contributed to 119 regular-season and postseason victories during his tenure with the Bulls. He was involved in the team's day-to-day hockey operations, according to the release.

The team earned a berth in the NA3HL Fraser Cup championship tournament twice during his tenure.
