Bulls beat rival Granite City

SAUK RAPIDS, Minn. – After falling behind 1-0 in the first period Friday night at rival Granite City, North Iowa scored four unanswered goals to pick up a 4-1 win.

Peter Verstegen had the goal to tie the game 1-1 in the first period, Mitch Dolter tallied a second-period goal, and Cameron Fagerlee and Brendan Studioso added a goal apiece in the third.

Colin Cain picked up the win in net, stopping 20 of the 21 shots he faced.

The two teams square off again Saturday night.


North Iowa 56 Northwood-Kensett 46

Senior Nathan Beenken led the Bison to victory over the Vikings with a 23-point performance. Junior Isaiah Walk aided with 14 points. 

The Vikings' were led by senior Josh Jasper with 16 points and junior Josh Fick with 14 points. 

The Bison travel to West Fork to open the 1A postseason on Thursday.
