I remember the Clear Lake deal real well. In fact when I filed a freedom of information request your reporter called me and asked why I did it. I replied "because you S O Bs in the press are not doing your job"
The schools conciderations you've mentioned go hand in hand with protecting the student's privacy and tax payer money. Misuse of information puts them at risk for legal trouble. If the school gets sued, tax payer money is lost in the process.
To add to this...if the press doesn't explain this to the public, it can be misleading. The public has not been thoroughly informed about the schools legal obligations. The vauge "will they, wont they be transparent" conjours up a false sense of being "lied" to.
Keep it Clean. Please avoid obscene, vulgar, lewd,
racist or sexually-oriented language.
PLEASE TURN OFF YOUR CAPS LOCK.
Don't Threaten. Threats of harming another
person will not be tolerated.
Be Truthful. Don't knowingly lie about anyone
Be Nice. No racism, sexism or any sort of -ism
that is degrading to another person.
