The Mason City Police Department identified five people injured in a single-car accident on May 2.

The driver of a 2005 Chevrolet Uplander, Deairreo Cryer, 24, and his passengers Ruth Redeker, 31; Tyjay Redeker, 7; Elijah Cryer, 4, and Deairreo Cryer Jr., 3, were all injured when the vehicle left the road and crashed into the ditch near the 1500 block of 12th Street Northwest around 6:45 p.m., according to a press release.

All five occupants were transported to MercyOne by the Mason City Fire Department. One person was later flown to Mayo Clinic for treatment.

Four of the victims have since been released. Redeker remains hospitalized.

The accident is still under investigation.
