CLARION — Jason Schluttenhofer, a deputy with the Wright County Sheriff’s Department, won the sheriff’s post during a special election Tuesday.
Schluttenhofer, a Republican, took the race over fellow deputy Jim Lester, 865-554, according to unofficial results.
Lester ran as an independent. Both men are from Clarion.

Schluttenhofer fills the vacancy left by Sheriff Paul Schultz, who resigned and left in February. Schluttenhofer’s term ends December 2016.
