Linda Sue Hevlin was born on April 4, 1952, a daughter of Raymond and Margaret (Smith) Hevlin in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from North High School in Des Moines in 1970 before attending UNI, where she met the love of her life, John Franklin in 1972. The couple married on February 10, 1973 and to this union, three children were born, Michael, Jeffrey and Traci.
Linda and her family moved to Mason City in 1983, and she began working as a Para for Jefferson Elementary in 1988. She retired in 2005.
After retirement, Linda and John enjoyed wintering in Laughlin, Nevada in their RV. She also enjoyed “working”, crafting, and bowling with friends. Linda was a wonderful cook, her fried chicken and Christmas Candy Plates were a family favorite, but most importantly she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to have fun and never met a stranger.
Those left to cherish her memory is her husband, John Franklin; her children, Michael (Daydra) Franklin, Jeffrey (LeKisha) Franklin, and Traci (Dustin) Moorehead; her grandchildren, Kenzie Moorehead, Bailey Franklin, Keely Moorehead, Brandon Franklin, and Elijah Franklin; her mother-in-law, Helen Stover, as well as many other extended family and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Margaret (Smith) Hevlin, and her sister, Barbra Ann.
