MANLY - Dale Cecil Neel, 92, of Manly, died Monday, March 11, 2019, at Muse Norris Inpatient Unit- Hospice of North Iowa.
A visitation will be held from 4-6pm on Tuesday (March 19, 2019) at Bride Colonial Chapel, 110 E. Spring Street, Manly.
A Graveside Service will be 12:00pm Wednesday (March 20, 2019) at the Evergreen Cemetery, Rudd.
Dale Cecil Neel was born on July 26, 1926 in rural Humboldt County, Iowa, the son of Cecil B. and Leona (Hunt) Neel.
He began school in Vernon Center in Humboldt County and then went to rural Cerro Gordo County Schools through the eighth grade. He completed ninth and part of tenth grade at Clear Lake High School.

Dale was a farmer all his life, farming with his father and brothers for many years, and then with his son until he retired. He served several years on the Hanlontown Co-Op Board of Directors and had been a member of the Plymouth and Manly Lions Clubs since 1969, thus, receiving the Melvin Jones Award and others during this time. He was a member for 42 years.
Dale married Betty Blunt of Rudd, Iowa in 1962 at the Rudd Methodist Church.
Dale is survived by his wife Betty Neel of Manly; his children, Phyllis (Mike Gruben) Neel of Kansas City, MO, Jim (Margo) Neel of Manly, IA, and Sally (James) Bishop of Plano, TX; grandchildren, Cole and Carly Neel, of Manly, IA, Alexandria Bishop of Plano, TX, Adam Horstman of Omaha, NE and Eric Horstman of Slater, IA; brothers, Kent (Sheila) Neel of Mesa, AZ, John (Sharon) Neel, of Chariton, IA, Harvey (Mary Lou) Neel of Scarville, IA and Delmer (Vonnie) Neel of Yorkville, IL; his sisters, Ina Neel and Dela Swift of Reno, NV; brother-in-law, Keith Coates of Loveland, CO, as well as many other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil B. and Leona (Hunt) Neel, his sisters, Vida Headley, Ruth Coates, and Doris Holm, his brothers, Clyde Neel and an infant brother, Lee Neel, a sister-in-law, Shirley Neel, and brothers-in-law, Johnie Holm and Raymond Headley.
