Carl John Hayungs

Carl John Hayungs was born December 22, 1930 in Woden, IA. He graduated from Ft. Dodge Iowa High School in 1948 and from Iowa State University in June, 1953 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Farm Operations. He entered the Air Force in 1953 as a 2nd Lieutenant and became a jet pilot primarily stationed in Okinawa. Upon Completion of the Air Force duties as a 1st Lieutenant, Carl became a commercial pilot for TWA until his retirement as a Captain in 1985. In 1986 he flew for Five Star Airlines until April 1988. In 1993 he moved to Fountain Hills, AZ. Carl married Nell Polson, Feb. 24, 1957. They had 3 children; Joyce Moellinger, Brian Hayungs, and Linda Huggins. Their four grandchildren's names are, Ashley, Brody, Jarod, and Jonathan.

Carl John Hayungs died July 22, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospice House in Kansas City, MO.
Carl was survived by a brother Harold (wife Stella) Hayungs, a sister Arlene (husband Don) Smith, and a companion Rose Marie Kramer. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elizabeth Hayungs, and his wife, Nell (Polson) Hayungs.
A memorial service is being planned later at the Presbyterian Church in Fountain Hills, AZ. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church, 13001 N. Fountain Hills Blvd, Fountain Hills, AZ 85268.
