MASON CITY | Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa has changed its name.

On Friday, Mercy Health Network announced its Mason City-based location, and its other wholly owned health care facilities across the state and region, will be officially known as MercyOne

MercyOne — and the new logo — were unveiled after 18 months of strategic planning, consumer research and community engagement.

Mercy Health Network, formed in 1998 by Catholic Health Initiatives and Trinity Health, comprises more than 40 owned, joint venture and affiliated medical centers and hospital campuses as well as 230 primary care clinics and other health facilities that employ more than 20,000 people.

Prior to the rebrand, the network’s system of medical centers and hospitals were represented by various brand names, logos and messages.

New interior and exterior signage will be installed at Mercy Health Network facilities and branded materials will be modified with the new name and logo in a phased manner, which will take about three years to complete.

All affiliated hospitals and facilities contracting with Mercy Health Network for management support, statewide initiatives and strategic benefits, like Hancock County Health System in Britt, are retaining their local governance and names.

The leadership and ownership structure of MercyOne remains unchanged.
