The Charles H. MacNider Art Museum kept its signature event alive Saturday in Mason City.
With activities for all ages, the "Art Splash" MacNider Arts Festival has remained a staple summer event for North Iowa since it began more than 50 years ago.
Children were given dozens of art projects to choose from, including face painting, easel painting, creating decorative stepping stones out of concrete and making tie-dyed bandanas.

Local artists and craft makers lined the sidewalks with their work to display and sell.
City officials were on hand to cook the free pancake breakfast while musicians provided entertainment throughout the day for attendees.
