FOREST CITY | A Forest City man remained in critical condition at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa Wednesday morning after a single-vehicle rollover Tuesday afternoon south of Forest City.

Timothy Gross, 52, was airlifted to Mercy.

An Iowa State Patrol report stated Gross was westbound on County Road B16, approaching County Road R44, when he swerved to avoid contact with another vehicle. He lost control of his vehicle, a 1989 Cadillac DeVille, which left the roadway and overturned in a drainage ditch, coming to rest on its top. The car was partially submerged in the ditch, according to the report.

Gross was pulled from his vehicle by Justin Hassebroek and Cody Reimann of Thompson, who were traveling near the scene.
