LAKE MILLS | A Minnesota woman arrested for felony stalking of a Lake Mills man has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and will serve jail time.
Katie Louise Christian, 34, Emmons, was sentenced on Nov. 14 to 365 day in jail on a misdemeanor stalking charge, with all but 30 days suspended.
She was put on probation for two years. A $625 fine was suspended.
She was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation and follow treatment recommendations.
Christian violated a no-contact order 709 times between April 1 and April 22, according to the Lake Mills Police Department.
She sent 696 text messages to the man named in the no-contact order, made 10 phone calls and went to his house three times in an attempt to make contact with him or his daughter, according to charging documents.
