MASON CITY | Mason City police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who they said assaulted a woman in the Southbridge Mall parking lot earlier this month.

Police responded to a report of an assault at 7:01 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at Southbridge Mall.

“A female victim had been assaulted by a male in the parking lot,” Mason City Police Chief Jeff Brinkley said. “The two were not known to one another prior to the assault.”

Brinkley said he does not believe the woman was injured. He would not provide any additional details about the incident.

The man fled the area following the incident. Police would not release a description of him.

People who may have witnessed the incident should call the Mason City Police Department at 641-421-3636.
