SWALEDALE | A Missouri man faces a misdemeanor charge after he stole a truck in Swaledale, according to law enforcement.
Andrew Cinque Jackson Jr., 36, of Gladstone, Missouri, was charged with misdemeanor operating a vehicle without owner’s consent following an incident Aug. 9.
A red 1992 Ford Ranger had been stolen from a residence in the 9500 block of 170th Street in Swaledale, court documents said.
It was returned on Aug. 10, with a lid from a Walmart Deli Amish macaroni salad left on the front seat, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department noted in the criminal complaint.
Deputies stopped a man with backpack who was seen walking from where the truck was stolen. A search of his backpack yielded an unopened container of the same brand of macaroni salad.

Since the vehicle was brought back, the owner requested lesser charges to be filed, court documents said.
Jackson was arrested and booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail, where he is being held on a $500 cash-only bond.
Assistant Cerro Gordo County Attorney Andrew Olson asked the court to hold Jackson on a $2,000 bond, citing two previous convictions for the same charge, one as recently as July 13.
Jackson is scheduled to appear in Cerro Gordo County District Court Aug. 21.
