NORTHWOOD | A Northwood woman is accused of stealing $2,600 and damaging property at the Burger King where she was employed near the Diamond Jo Casino.

Jillian Chaunta Delle, 36, was charged with felony second-degree theft and misdemeanor fifth-degree criminal mischief.

On Saturday, Delle took cash from the safe, cash registers and by cutting open three bank bags at the Burger King, 700 Diamond Jo Lane, Northwood, where she worked, court documents say. 

The amount of money taken was approximately $2,600, and the cost to replace the damaged bags is approximately $120, according to court documents.

Delle then called the sheriff’s office to report the theft as a scam and admitted she took the money, law enforcement said. 

Delle was placed on home arrest after after her initial court appearance. She is scheduled to appear in Worth County District Court Jan. 25. 

A non-jury trial for the criminal mischief charge is set for July 11.
