MASON CITY | The medical license for a North Iowa occupational therapist facing federal charges has been suspended.

Samantha Jo Rogers, 32, Mason City, faces federal charges for stealing prescription drugs and violating patient confidentiality laws. She has also been charged with burglary in Franklin County, and has been scheduled for a jury trial Dec. 13 in that case.

The Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy, which licenses occupational therapists in the state, has agreed not to pursue disciplinary charges against Rogers until other pending criminal charges and investigations are resolved, documents said.

On Oct. 26, Rogers submitted an agreement saying she would not work as an occupational therapist.

The agreement was approved Nov. 2.
