MASON CITY | A Mason City man was arrested after a Lake Mills missing person and possible assault investigation in Mason City Wednesday evening. 

At about 5 p.m. Wednesday, the Mason City Police Department, Cerro Gordo County Sheriff's Office and North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force went to a residence at 334 Ninth St. N.E. in Mason City.

Voigt is listed as the property owner for the address, according to online records. 

Officers were assisting Lake Mills police with a missing person and possible assault case, the Mason City Police Department said in a news release. 

The officers found a missing 29-year-old woman and transported her to Mercy Medical Center--North Iowa. Police didn't identify her or disclose her condition. 

Kristofer Voigt, 38, of Mason City, was arrested about 9:27 p.m. Wednesday on two warrants for violating pretrial release and violating parole.

He is accused of stealing a jet ski in Clear Lake in August and using methamphetamine and other amphetamines while on probation, according to court documents. 

Voigt is being held at the Cerro Gordo County Jail on a $5,000 bond. No court date has been set.  

The Mason City Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Voigt has a criminal history in North Iowa. 

In January 2017, Voigt was sentenced to up to 12 years in prison for violating probation for a domestic abuse assault conviction, unauthorized use of a credit card and escaping from Beje Clark. 

Voigt was sentenced to up to five years in prison for violating his probation on a felony conviction of domestic abuse assault by strangulation causing bodily injury.

He was accused of biting a woman on her mouth, grabbing her throat and strangling her in March 2015 in Mason City. 

Voigt was sentenced to another term of up to five years in prison for a felony conviction of escape from custody. He was accused of escaping from the Beje Clark Residential Center in Mason City in December 2015.

He also was ordered to serve up to two years in prison on a misdemeanor conviction of unauthorized use of a credit card. 

He was accused of using a stolen credit card to make four attempts to withdraw $300 from an ATM in Mason City.
