MASON CITY | A Mason City woman is accused of punching and biting a man she knew Sunday morning.

Christina Marie Fairholm, 28, is charged with misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury or mental illness following an incident at an apartment on the 600 block of East State Street.

About 7:24 a.m., Fairholm allegedly punched a man she knew in the face “several times.” She also bit the man on the left arm, breaking the skin near the wrist leaving visible teeth marks, court documents said.

Mason City Police arrested Fairholm later Sunday morning.

Fairholm is held in Cerro Gordo County Jail on a $2,000 bond. Court documents specify that she is “held for bond due to the court’s concern about the defendant’s current mental state.”

Fairholm is scheduled to appear April 3 in Cerro Gordo County District Court.
