MASON CITY | A Mason City woman arrested Wednesday is accused of confining a person in an apartment and hitting the person with a chair.
Lisa Lee Arnold, 52, is charged with felony first-degree burglary and misdemeanor false imprisonment after an incident on the 300 block of East State Street.
About 10:09 a.m., Mason City Police responded to a report of an “assault in progress,” according to a press release.
According to court documents, Arnold entered an apartment without permission and assaulted the tenant by striking the person with a chair and punching the person.

Arnold is also accused of confining the tenant against the person’s will by threatening the tenant and telling the tenant that “they were not allowed to leave the apartment or go to the bathroom located in the apartment.”
Police said two people were evaluated for non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident.
Arnold was arrested in the afternoon and booked in Cerro Gordo County jail.
According to jail records, she is being held without bond until she can be seen by a judge for her initial appearance. No court date has been set.
