FOREST CITY | A Mason City man police say was at a drug gathering at a Forest City residence has been sentenced to 30 days in jail for misdemeanor marijuana conviction.
Brian B. Matthias, 30, pleaded guilty to marijuana possession, second offense, on Sept. 7 in Winnebago County District Court.
A felony charge of gathering where drugs were used was dismissed through a plea bargain. Matthias was fined $315.
Matthias possessed marijuana, a marijuana pipe and hypodermic needles commonly used for injecting meth on Feb. 15 while at a gathering in the 100 block of Cathedral Oaks Road, according to a Forest City Police Department criminal complaint.

Police say two children were in the apartment at the time. Zachary Monsen, 30, Forest City, is their father, according to the complaint.
Monsen and another Forest City resident, Meagan Christensen, 34, are scheduled to be tried Oct. 24.
Chelsea L. Harp, 32, Forest City, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor methamphetamine possession earlier this year and was sentenced to two days in jail.
