MASON CITY | A Mason City man has been arrested for using a stolen debit card at an ATM, running from police and probation violations.

Michael Patrick Reich, 31, was charged with misdemeanor unauthorized use of a credit card under $1,000, interference with official acts and probation violations.

At about 7:15 a.m. Oct. 20, Reich allegedly used a stolen card to withdraw $200 from an ATM at Fareway. At 1 p.m. the same day, court documents say Reich ran from a Mason City police officer after being told to stop several times in the 600 block of North Pennsylvania Avenue.

Reich was arrested and booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail, where he is being held on a $7,000 bond.

In November 2016, Reich was sentenced to five years' probation for forgery and lottery fraud. Two five-year prison sentences were suspended.

In September, he is accused of violating his probation by failing to meet with his officer, failing to tell him he moved and testing positive for THC. He also admitted to using meth on three occasions that month, a probation violation report states.

Reich bonded out of the jail Aug. 24 and didn't appear for probation revocation sentencing Sept. 26.

“Shortly after release from jail, the defendant relapsed on drugs,” court documents said.

He is scheduled to appear in Cerro Gordo County District Court Oct. 31.
