MASON CITY - A Mason City man arrested for assaulting a woman he knew in March has been arrested again for assault while displaying a dangerous weapon.
Michael Isaiah Schenker, 22, was charged with misdemeanor assault while displaying a dangerous weapon following an incident April 27. Schenker was also charged with domestic abuse assault - second offense March 22.
At about 9:32 a.m. April 27, Schenker allegedly displayed a green-handled knife and swung it towards another person at a residence in the 300 block of South Pennsylvania Avenue.
Court documents said the knife grazed the person’s shirt. Mason City police arrested Schenker, and he was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail.
After his initial court appearance, he was released under the supervision of the Department of Correctional Services.
Schenker is scheduled to appear in Cerro Gordo County District Court May 18 .

A little more than a month earlier, Schenker was arrested for domestic abuse assault at a residence in the 2300 block of South Taft Avenue in Mason City.
At about 5 p.m. March 22, he is accused of hitting a woman he knew in the face, causing a bloody nose and a cut lip.
According to court documents, he also hit her in the leg and back, causing bruising.
Schenker has a prior conviction for domestic abuse assault in July 2014 in Cerro Gordo County.
He was arrested March 26 and released under the supervision of the Department of Correctional Services.
