Mason City man arrested for shoving, knocking out woman

MASON CITY | A Mason City man is accused of shoving a woman into a wall and knocking her unconscious.

Mark Allsbrook, 37, was charged with misdemeanor domestic abuse assault - injury or mental illness first offense after an incident in the 00 block of Westview Drive in Mason City.

At about 4:15 p.m. June 10, Allsbrook allegedly shoved a woman he knew several times. The woman told Mason City police that one of the times, he shoved her “so hard that she hit the wall behind her, causing her to lose consciousness for a brief period of time.”

The woman, who was taken to the hospital, also told police she "was crying and after realizing what he had done, the defendant did attempt to help her up.”

Allsbrook was arrested, booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail and released on his own recognizance following his initial court appearance.

A no-contact order was issued June 11. His next court date hasn't been set.
