MASON CITY | A Mason City man has been charged with two drug offenses after a traffic stop Friday.

A Cerro Gordo County Sheriff's deputy pulled over Bachig Cornelius, 29, about 11:29 p.m. in the 1100 block of North Washington Avenue in Mason City, according to court documents.

Cornelius was initially arrested for driving while his license was revoked, according to the criminal complaint.

Upon a search of his person, court documents say the deputy located methamphetamine and a pill identified as Clonazepam.

Cornelius was charged with possession of a controlled substance — third or subsequent offense and unlawful possession of a prescription drug.

Cornelius is scheduled to appear in Cerro Gordo County District Court Friday. He is being held in Cerro Gordo County Jail on a $1,000 bond.
