Mason City man arrested for domestic assault

MASON CITY - A Mason City man was accused of domestic assault after police say he grabbed and kicked a woman.

Richard Dean Maise, 63, was charged with misdemeanor domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury - first offense.

At about 8:07 a.m. Tuesday, Maise allegedly assaulted a woman he knew in his home on the 00 block of 9th Street Northwest.  

According to court documents, Maise grabbed the woman by her arm and kicked her in the abdomen, causing redness and pain.

Maise was arrested, booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail and was later released on his own recognizance following his initial court appearance Wednesday.

Maise is scheduled to appear in Cerro Gordo County District Court Nov. 16.

A no-contact order was issued Wednesday.
