According to court documents, Pettit was found intoxicated on the west shoulder of the road in the 400 block of North Pennsylvania Avenue.

He smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech and swayed while standing, court documents said. He allegedly admitted to police that he had been drinking alcohol.

A certified breath test indicated his blood alcohol content was .204, court documents said, two and a half times the state's legal limit.

Pettit was arrested, booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail and released on his own recognizance following a court appearance. He is scheduled to appear in Cerro Gordo County District Court Nov. 29.

A no-contact order was issued Friday.
