MASON CITY | A Mason City man has been arrested for pushing and punching a woman he knew.

Ronald John Lichman Espinosa, 40, was charged with misdemeanor domestic abuse assault - second offence following an incident on April 4.

Between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., Espinosa allegedly pushed the woman and punched her in the right eye at a residence in the 600 block 14th Street Southeast in Mason City.

Trial information stated he pushed the woman against a door by her neck.

The woman reported the assault at Mason City Police Department April 5, according to court documents. Police noted in the criminal complaint that the woman’s right eye had bruising around it.

Espinosa was previously convicted of domestic abuse assault in Cerro Gordo County in 2007, court documents said.

He was arrested and booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail. Espinosa posted a $500 bond April 7.

A no-contact order was filed April 9.

He is scheduled to appear in Cerro Gordo County District Court April 24.
