Mason City man accused of assaulting woman

MASON CITY - A Mason City man was arrested Monday for domestic abuse assault in Mason City.

Taevian Morris Lee, 19, is charged with misdemeanor domestic abuse assault -- first offense following an incident early Sunday morning.

About 2:21 a.m. in the 600 block of South Georgia Avenue, Lee allegedly hit a woman he knew “about the face causing bruising, swelling and a cut on her eyebrow that required medical treatment,” according to court documents.

A warrant for his arrest was issued Monday, and he was arrested the same day.

Lee bonded out shortly after his initial court appearance where he pleaded not guilty.

A non-jury trial is scheduled for April 12 at the Cerro Gordo County Courthouse.

A no-contact order was issued Tuesday.
