MASON CITY - A Mason City man was arrested for assaulting a man and woman Friday at his home.

Joseph Eugene Scarcello, 42, was charged with felony domestic abuse assault - third or subsequent offense and misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury. 

This incident occurred at his residence on the 100 block of 13th Street Northeast

At about 7:49 a.m. Friday, he allegedly kicked a woman’s left calf and right hip causing redness.

According to court documents, Scarcello also hit the top of her head head and left a bruise on her forehead.

At about 9 a.m. the same day, Scarcello is accused of assaulting a man in front of his home.

Court documents said Scarcello ran at the man and knocked him to the ground causing.

Mason City Police noted in the criminal complaint that the man had red marks to his nose, a broken tooth and pain on his left shoulder as a result of the assault.

Scarcello was arrested and booked into Cerro Gordo County Jail where he is held on a $5,000 bond. A no contact order was issued Monday

He is scheduled to appear Dec. 21 in Cerro Gordo County District Court.
