MASON CITY | A Manly woman arrested in Northwood for drugs Thursday faces additional felony charges for forgery in Cerro Gordo County.
Emily Elizabeth Buttshaw, 35, was charged with felony forgery following an incident in Mason City Jan. 18.
A person owning a business in the 400 block of Fourth Street Northeast told a Mason City police officer Buttshaw attempted to cash a check from the business that was made out to her for $500, court documents say.
The business owner said he never issued a check to Buttshaw and doesn't know how she had one of his checks, according to court documents.
Since Buttshaw did not have an account at the bank, she was required to show an ID, which identified her as Emily Buttshaw, court documents said.
She is currently under the supervision of the Department of Correctional Services and is scheduled to appear in Cerro Gordo County District Court Feb. 15.
Buttshaw also has trials pending for meth, forgery and OWI cases in Worth and Cerro Gordo counties.
