MASON CITY | A Manly woman is accused of driving her vehicle through a garage door and slashing a tire on another man’s vehicle in rural Mason City.

Jody Lynn Cheney, 49, was charged with misdemeanor third-degree criminal mischief after an incident early Tuesday morning.

According to court documents, Cheney “admittedly and knowingly used her vehicle to strike the victims' residence, causing structural damage” about 4:43 a.m. in the 15000 block of 310th Street in Mason City.

Cerro Gordo County Sheriff Kevin Pals specified said Cheney drove her vehicle, a 1997 Ford Explorer, through a garage door and then admitted to slashing a tire on a man's vehicle. 

Property damage is estimated between $500 and $1,000, court document say.

Cheney was booked in Cerro Gordo Jail late Wednesday evening. She was later released on her own recognizance after her initial court appearance.

A no-contact order has been filed. 

Cheney is scheduled to appear in Cerro Gordo County District Court Feb. 16.
