MASON CITY | A Manly man was arrested after a traffic stop Friday led to a felony charge in Mason City.

Christopher John Heyden, 34, was charged with felony possession of ammunition by a domestic abuser and misdemeanor driving while barred.

A Cerro Gordo County Sheriff's deputy pulled over Heyden about 1:19 p.m. near 255th Street and Lark Avenue in Mason City for an equipment violation, according to court documents.

Heyden was arrested for driving while barred. Upon a search of his person, court documents say a deputy found ammunition in Heyden's pocket.

People convicted of domestic abuse in Iowa are prohibited from possessing a gun or ammunition.

Heyden is scheduled to appear in Cerro Gordo County District Court Friday. He is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on a $7,000 bond.
