MASON CITY | A Mason City woman allegedly embezzled more than $32,000 from a Mason City Yes Way convenience store in January, police say. 

Melissa Joy Gott, 54, is accused of felony first-degree theft while employed as a store manager of Yes Way, 1303 Fourth St. S.W., police wrote in charging documents. 

Gott allegedly stole store bank deposits totaling $32,411.56 between Jan. 3 and Jan. 14, court documents said. 

Gott was arrested and booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail Wednesday morning, where she is being held on a $10,000 bond. No court date has been set.

In 2007, Gott pleaded down a second-degree theft by check charge to third-degree theft. 

In that case, Gott received a 90-day suspended jail sentence, a $650 suspended fine and one year of probation.
