Mustang at 121 mph

The Chickasaw County Sheriff's Office says it clocked a Ford Mustang driving 121 mph in a 65 mph zone Tuesday. The driver faces a $443 ticket on the speeding charge. 

NEW HAMPTON | An Iowa City man was arrested Tuesday after law enforcement said they clocked his black Ford Mustang traveling 121 mph on the highway. 

Chickasaw County deputies said they received a driving complaint about 5:39 p.m. Tuesday that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed on Highway 63, which has a posted speed limit of 65 mph. 

The vehicle was stopped in the 1700 block of the highway, north of New Hampton.

Hamdan Ali Manea Mufreh Al Ahbabi, 22, was charged with speeding, reckless driving, eluding and expired registration.

Al Ahbabi was arrested and transported to the Chickasaw County Jail, where he is being held on a $2,000 bond. He later posted bond, according to jail personnel

The scheduled fine for driving 121 mph in a 65 mph zone is $443, according to Chickasaw County Sheriff's Office.
