BUFFALO CENTER -- A man who allegedly stabbed a Buffalo Center woman with a pocket knife has been charged with felony willful injury.

A May 31 arraignment is set for Joe Anthony Garcia, 31, of Wells, Minnesota.

Garcia was at the woman's residence in the 500 block of Third Street Southwest in Buffalo Center shortly after 1 a.m. on April 30 when he grabbed her by the throat with his left hand and with his right hand stabbed her in the neck, according to a criminal complaint from the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office.

The woman told officers she punched Garcia in the face in self-defense before realizing she had blood running down her neck.
