FOREST CITY | A rural Garner man who allegedly admitted to having sex with a 14-year-old girl in a Pammel Park bathroom in Forest City faces criminal charges.
Zakary Tyler Schachtner, who turned 18 in February, was charged with felony third-degree sexual assault.
Court documents say he was charged with that offense because he performed a sex act with someone four or more years younger than him on Oct. 20, according to the Forest City Police Department criminal complaint.
The complaint states a Hancock County deputy told the Forest City police on Nov. 4 that Schachtner admitted to having sex with the girl.
The police then contacted the girl's mother, who agreed to press charges, according to the complaint.
